Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) Return of Funds ACH Credit

This site will process grant funds returns to the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury) for the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) Program.
Recipients use this form to return to Treasury any HAF funds that were unable to be obligated by 9/30/2026, or in the case of early closeout, by the date the recipient submits its final reports to Treasury, and pay other amounts related to award closeout, compliance, or single audit. This form can also be used when a recipient intends to withdraw its participation in the program and return its full award.
Before you begin, be sure to have your HAF Application Number and HAF Federal Award Identification Number (FAIN). If this is for a debt, you will also need your Invoice Number. To successfully complete all the required fields in the form, make sure to use the notice received from Treasury, which includes this information and the full amount to return.
ACH Credit transactions must be completed through your bank. After entering all required information on Pay.gov, print the completed form and submit it to your bank to finalize the payment. Please ensure that the Company Name entered on the ACH Credit matches the Payor, and that the Identification Number matches the one specified in the ACH Credit Instructions from Pay.gov.
